Powering a Resilient Future With Transitional Energy Generation

Hindustan Power entered the energy sector in 2008 with a vision to strengthen India’s power infrastructure and support economic growth. The company commenced construction of its transitional energy generation project in Madhya Pradesh in 2010. The project was commissioned in 2015 and achieved full commercial operation in 2016, adding significant capacity to meet the country’s growing energy demand.

The company has also focused on enhancing the environmental performance of its operations, including the early adoption of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) technology in 2024 to significantly reduce emissions and support cleaner power generation.

Building on this foundation, the company has announced the expansion of its transitional energy generation project in Madhya Pradesh with the addition of an 800 MW ultra-supercritical unit. The company has also secured the necessary environmental clearance for the expansion. In early 2026, Hindustan Power signed a Power Supply Agreement with MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for 800 MW from the upcoming unit, further reinforcing its commitment to meeting the country's long-term energy needs.
