Job Description

The role involves conducting field examinations, analyzing soil, water and air samples and preparing detailed reports to identify and mitigate environmental hazards. Responsibilities include implementing spill prevention programs, ensuring compliance with Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and coordinating with clients, regulators and government departments. The job emphasizes collaboration with environmental experts and ensuring all environmental and forest-related compliance is timely obtained and maintained. Effective project management and reducing environmental impact are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee field examinations, analyzing test samples and report hazardous locations and materials.
• Maintain management information systems that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories and complaint investigations.
• Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards.
• Design and implement effective employee training programs.
• Collect and analyze test samples of soil, water and air.
• Perform research and report your findings on the current environmental conditions.
• Prepare clear and detailed written reports about field inspections.
• Implement spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations.
• Working with Environmental Engineers and other environmental experts
• Collaborating with companies to reduce their impact on the environment
• Co-ordinate with impanelled expert (as per project requirement)
• Liasioning with the client, laboratory, environment department & government offices
• Coordination with government departments, clients, regulators and vendors for effective project management
• Ensuring all environmental safeguards are adhered to during the project, including compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP)
• Ensuring all the compliance under environment, forest related matters obtained and maintained timely.

Requirements

• Qualification : Graduate / Postgraduate in Environment Engineering/Science or relevant field
• Industry : Environment specialist - Coal Mining
• Experience : 15-20 years
• Skills : In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, interpretations and health and safety programs. Aptitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills. Outstanding analytical abilities. Familiarity with environmental regulations and international guidelines. Familiarity with technical manuals, guidelines & various approving bodies/committees of India.
