Job Description
Build comprehensive financial models from scratch, tailored to the unique needs of the organization. The role involves analyzing financial data, forecasting scenarios and supporting decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Model Development
- Build robust, dynamic financial models from the ground up
- Incorporate project-specific elements such as capital expenditure (CAPEX), operational expenditure (OPEX), energy production forecasts and tariff structures.
Scenario Analysis:
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess risks and their financial impact.
- Model various financing structures, including debt-equity splits, interest rates and repayment schedules.
Feasibility Studies:
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement and finance teams to prepare financial feasibility reports for new and existing projects.
- Support investment decisions by evaluating IRR, NPV, payback periods and profitability metrics. Industry's Market Research and Benchmarking:
- Stay updated on power sector regulations, energy pricing trends and government policies.
- Benchmark model assumptions against industry standards and best practices.
- Explore diversification opportunities by participating in the various tenders (Energy as well as non-energy sector).
Reporting and Presentations:
- Prepare clear, concise financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate model outputs and recommendations to senior management and investors.
Requirements
- Qualification : MBA/CA/CFA. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA) and financial modeling software.
- Industry : Preferably from the Power Sector
- Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in building complex financial models, preferably in the power or energy sector/non-power sectors.
- Skills : Strong understanding of the power sector, including regulatory frameworks, energy tariffs and project lifecycle.
